​I'm Mahaila Engelman, the owner of Goldenrod Nanny Agency. Growing up, I would always tell people that I wanted to be a mom to a hundred kids when I got older. Although now that I am older I can now see how irrational that vision was, I am also old enough to find a way around it and still make my young dreams somewhat of a reality. This little business and all of the kiddos that I work alongside and grow with are why I am able to make that dream even close to being something worth accomplishing - and for that I am SO thankful for!

 

I grew up in a small town of 260 people located just west of Beatrice, Nebraska. With such a small amount of people in the town, I was able to connect with so many families at such a young age. I was 12 years old when I started watching my first family, and still to this day I have a wholesome connection with them. With over 10 years of nanny experience, I have had the privilege to work with many different kiddos of various needs, personalities, and ages - the youngest being 2 weeks old. I have years of one-on-one experience with Autism and various other special needs, multiples, traveling with different families, and some additional experience with caregiving and assisting elderly patients. 

 

I graduating in 2019 from Diller-Odell High School. While in high school I was able to help form a tutoring program to help assist many of our younger elementary kiddos with additional homework and educational help. I assisted with our local summer reading camp and vacation bible school programs, and was also active in various clubs and sports periodically throughout my high school career. Shortly following my high school graduation, I ended up moving to Arizona with one of my long-term nanny families to help their special needs daughter receive the best specialized education in an environment that she would be able to thrive in. I graduated high school with a year of college education already under my belt, in which I continued my college education that following fall. In December of 2020, I graduated from Southeast Community College with an Associates in Business Administration with Minors in Marketing, Management, and Accounting. 

 

Goldenrod Nanny Agency was designed to help guide families through growth. Our mission is to cultivate healthy relationships between family and nanny by finding the perfect long-term fit through various phases of your family's growth. We strive to provide each family with a nanny that fits our core values - accountability, compassion, integrity, and dependability.
